::: haunted snacks

On Thursday afternoon, I got a spot-on e-mail from Vivian:

"I feel like you're always very festive and into the holidays, so will you be decorating things and baking Halloween-themed treats? I feel like making holiday-themed-things is such a Lindsay Meyer activity, and I always look forward to your blog posts about holiday stuff afterward!"

It's true.  I can't let a holiday go by without putting up decorations.  Any excuse for themed baking gets my heart racing.  As for this year's repertoire, I settled on brownie pops covered in white chocolate and dipped in pecan pieces and crushed Reese's Pieces.  When Aunt Mary sent a package with Halloween funfetti cake mix and the most adorable cupcake liners, I knew that I was also on the hook for cupcakes.  (I say that like it's a problem, but honestly, I REALLY like to bake cupcakes).

The last time I made Brownie Pops, they were a huge hit.  The recipe wound up on the homepage of Wordpress.com and my co-workers were delighted to eat the leftovers.

The Monster Mix of Jelly Belly's in my candy corn shaped dish rounds out a fabulous trio of treats.  I finally feel fully festive!  (In case you're in doubt, I'm even listening to the Monster Mash while I type this...)
